Although the astral world, or plane, is primary thought of as an after-death abode, it must be mentioned that even during physical life some clairvoyants and ordinary people are aware of its presence. This awareness may come through sleep, or through the action of anesthetics or drugs, or accidents, and by the interpretation of the astral body that leaves its physical denser counterpart; and taking with it the sense of pleasure and pain, and living for a short duration in its own world. Here again, it may be noted that persons possessing more refined thoughts are more able to travel from their immediate physical surroundings further into the astral world, and by doing so be beneficial to their culture and humanity.

Kundalini Awakening

A brilliant video depiction of kundalini, chakras, and the evolution of metaphysical consciousness. As a side note, if you're feeling particularly attune and listen to it, you may become hypnotized or fall into a similar state of heightened relaxation.

Edgeplay with God

From the page...The atheists got all bent out of shape a few weeks ago when I suggested they were full of shit. What do you know about atheism? You sit there, stock still without even a dominatrix to torment you and thus distract you from what's real. You spend a few years right there, nose to nose with yourself. Then you can come back and talk to me about whether God exists or not. Until that day you haven't earned the right to tell me shit about God. So fuck off with all your oh so well thought out words and words and words and words. Atheists are full of shit.

Good article. Yes, I read the entire thing and no, I cannot recap. It was just *that* hardcore.

This guy is no more a fan of atheists than he is a fan of the cults of religion. Sounds like my kind of guy. I particularly loved his reference to reality. Yeah. Face yourself. It's the boogey-monster alright but he's right: It's scarier avoiding it than facing it...We run so fast and so hard to avoid it...

From the article again: Reality is always the best place to be. The truth is always the best thing to see. There are never any exceptions. You can't run away anyhow. So why waste your energy trying? And God? God isn't a million zillion miles away on his diamond throne somewhere in outer space. God is the wind on your face. God is the sky as your reflection. God is that something buried in your head that you always thought was you. It's not you. There is no you. That thing you think is you, actually belongs to the universe. And the universe will take it back one day. On that day it will be just like you never existed at all. Cuz you never did. But the universe will carry on forever. And so will that something you always thought of as yourself. And so will God. So there.

I thank the Goat for sending it my way.

Sobriety without God

Thumbed down due to inaccuracy of the premise that A.A. is a religious program. Patently not true. See here!

A.A., I don't care how many naysayers antagonize against its precepts, is not religious. It doesn't even have to be about being *spiritual.* The *higher power* concept can be the God of your understanding, your highest consciousness - if you have one -, or your sober self. Whatever.

And for the belligerent wet alcoholics who want to remain defiant even in the face of this, then watch this: "You drink in the face of not wanting to" and that tells me you have no problem being owned by a *lower power.* So. Even if an alcoholic prefers Trimpey's approach to A.A., whatever. It's still a higher power...a higher power than your best thinking which causes you to drink against your own will.

I agree with the friend who sent me this. His comment went along the lines of..."These people seem to have an axe to grind. A.A. doesn't have to be religious or spiritual."

I have some agnostic friends in A.A. who have no problem with the principles. But see, the same humility that drove them to seek help, also drove them to seek out people in A.A. who weren't demented and saying stupid things like, "Fake it til you make it." These articles always seem to get the most screwed up stark raving "sober" people they can find in order to prove its point. Which makes it biased as well as inaccurate.

Don't let the hype fool you.

PS. I re-categorized it into mental health since it's not about religion; as much as religion haters would love to hate A.A. because of the hype. Remember. Do your own research if you really want to know. The Big Book is online and free for the reading. Also, I recommend a friends review of this also.
