I am very happy the cop had the conscience to kill himself after directing another cop to taser a mentally ill man which lead to the man's jumping and ultimate death. It would be better if more cops had this kind of conscience after inflicting a potentially lethal weapon upon a person who is not a physical threat. Ban Tasers so we can not only prevent the mentally ill from physical pain infliction but also to prevent cops' consciences from leading them to suicide, drug use, alcoholism, corruption, or the worst of all, DEADENING of their humanity...

And of course not to allocate blame here, but so hopefully others can learn so other children can be saved from this awful experience.

As a child I was very scared to go to this woman's house but because of various reasons [my friends were there, I was shy about speaking up, and for the most past I tried to keep my mouth shut so as not to upset the crazy bitch] I did. I was precisely 8.

I was also 8 at the time of "the episode" I call it. She shook, rattled, and rolled me; Got a belt to me and screamed at me with a red face. What I remember more than the humiliation and the pain was the fear that I was so bad and had deserved it. For 9 years I wore that "episode" as a mark of shame. I never told anyone until I was 17. And even then I told my grandmother that it happened.

I want everyone to know that I think it is important to indoctrinate to children that IF something *bad* happens to them it is not their fault and B that IF something happens to them they NEED to ALWAYS tell you. The secret to this happening is actually to teach your child that there is no room for shame or blame in your household. This is where it starts.

Unlike *my episode* - where it only felt like hours, in "real" time it was probably 6 minutes. This poor girl [allegedly] endured hour after hour of inflicted horror *and* [unlike me] has the broken bones, internal injuries, and external injuries to show it. Poor child...

According to New Hampshire authorities, Cara LeBlanc tortured her step daughter Thursday for nine hours - beating the 8-year-old child vigorously with a belt until it broke. She also allegedly dragged the girl up a flight of stairs by her hair and then pushed her down those stairs repeatedly. Authorities believe this pattern was repeated 7 times. She also apparently stood on the girl, forced food down her throat and committed other alleged abuses.

As a result, authorities say the 8-year-old girl suffered severe trauma including: Broken vertebrae in both her neck and back. Three broken ribs, bruises over her body - but especially on the child's face and damage to her liver and kidneys.

There is nothing to really be said about the abuser here. It's clear she is a sick and demented woman who is not to be trusted around the more helpless members of our society. It is clear she is a rage-a-holic and bully. But my concern is for this child. If we spend time passing the message that this "episode" was born out of shame and blame [rather than insulting the sick twist who *allegedly* perpetrated it], I think more success would be gained.
