Also make sure to grant your FTP client as a safe application. [Blonde women: Take note.]

Jul 21, 2007 11:43am (4 reviews) computer-security http://www.computerworld.com/blogs/node/...- Someone needs to get educated on computer systems and how applications function instead of deflecting to [how Microsoft passes the buck] "passing the buck" memes. First of all, we WANT operating systems to pass paramteters. Firefox did not properly validate the input arguments. That *is* a firefox problem. NOT IE. How can any operating system guess how an application is going to screw up and then take steps to not allow an application to screw up?!
Second of all ...I worked in IT and YES, sometimes is IS a problem with the other guys application or their system configuration. As a tech working with a client how is it my responsibility to know the faulty/buggy application they're using in order to fix the output of *my companies* software?
I wish people would educate themselves before throwing out deflecting opinions that don't focus on the issue - because they don't know enough about the issue to have an informed response or to make an informed opinion or statement.
Stay tuned to tomorrow...When I pretend to focus on a Global Warming incident but because I won't know what I am talking about I'll deflect to "the political system" being corrupted.
