"...then you show your child that you are insecure in your relationship with him or her, that you are afraid of being replaced. You also, in effect, force the child to chose between you and the stepparent, and convey the idea to the child that there is no way to be respectful and loving to one of you without the other getting upset."

Politicians Becoming Doctors

Many physicians who provide obstetric and gynecologic services to women are concerned that the ruling will have a negative impact on women's health by taking some medical decisions out of doctors' hands.

"From a public health perspective, today's ruling will not advance the health of women and children in America," said Dr. David Grimes, former chief of the abortion surveillance branch at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

"It allows [an] intrusion into the relationship between doctors and patients. What would Americans think about that?"

Other physicians see the ruling as a violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act which, among other things, ensures the privacy and security of a patient's health information.

"If HIPAA prevents me from speaking to family members about medical decisions without permission, how can the federal government insert itself into the decision-making process without invitation from either the physician or the patient?" asked Dr. Lisa Jones, practicing gynecologist and fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

"I feel strongly about the right of a woman to choose and the right of a physician to suggest the most appropriate treatment for a patient without the interference from a nonmedical body," Jones added."

I utilize methods like this before I rely on W. Medicine's solution. I don't trust pharmaceutical companies, government regulatory agencies, or any U.S. administrations for that matter. I visit the Healthy Food Store and try concoctions of herbs and homeopathy remedies unless I'm in dire [emergency almost life/death] need. If I am in dire need I'll use OTC remedies [or visit a doctor for prescription medicine] but that's in severe circumstances in which I'm willing to risk.

Dear Friend,

Thank you very much for the email requesting that if I am not ashamed of Jesus, or otherwise believe him to be my personal Lord and Savior, then I should forward the email you sent to me on to my friends imposing upon them in much the same fashion you have just mass forwarded this email to me. However. I believe in my friends' rights to believe whatever they need to believe and I value their friendship to the minimum extent I wouldn't imply they were going to Hell if they deleted the email. I also would not imply they need to somehow feel ashamed if they did not forward it. What sort of friend wants their friends to feel shame?

Suicide: Read This First

"Suicide is not chosen; it happens
when pain exceeds
resources for coping with pain."

People who think about suicide are not flawed or crazy or nuts. They simply lack additional resources that can lead them out of the abyss into the light. Whether that abyss has been life altering trauma or chemical depression, I want everyone to know who may think about suicide that - although it may not feel like it right now - there are resources available.

My advice would also include to not listen to the pat answers of well-intentioned friends, "It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem." Well duh. The problem is that the problem doesn't feel so freaking temporary does it? Or else the same problem continues doesn't it...with seemingly no end in sight.

Often, a permanent solution feels more realistic than continueal - pain. I know.

But there are resources to enable you to live a better life; Medication, alcohol, drugs, professional therapy, spirituality, religion, books, screaming at the top of your lungs, a change of circumstances...Whatever you need to hold on to in order to get to that place. Please read this page.

The Bush administration was so determined to pursue this phantom scourge that it deported a legal Florida resident back to his native Pakistan for mistakenly filling out a voter registration card when he renewed his driver's license. And it may well have decided to fire most of the eight federal prosecutors because they would not play along.
